Public Notice – Accreditation Assessment Team Invites Public Comment

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Gloucester Township Police Department including its Public Safety Emergency Communications Center is scheduled for on-site assessments as part of its program to achieve accreditation by verifying that it meets recognized professional best practices.

Administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with best practice standards in five basic areas: the administrative function, the personnel function, the operations function, the investigative function, and the arrestee/detainee function. The Communications Accreditation Program requires agencies to comply with best practice standards in three basic areas: management, operations, and analysis functions.

Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 856-842-5569 on January 23, 2023 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM regarding the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. Comments will be taken by a NJSACOP Assessor. Email comments can be sent to the Gloucester Township Police Department to Chief David Harkins at police@gtpolice.com.

Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 856-842-5569 on January 24, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM regarding the Public Safety Communications Center. Comments will be taken by a NJSACOP Assessor. Email comments can be sent to the Gloucester Township Police Department to Chief David Harkins at police@gtpolice.com.

Telephone comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the NJSACOP Public Safety Communications standards. Please contact Deputy Chief Anthony Minosse at 856-374-3539 for more information.
