“The 2022 Holiday Season is upon us. We at the Gloucester Township Police Department have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving — our amazing officers, dispatchers, professional staff, volunteers, chaplains, our public safety partners, our government partners, our community partners, and especially the great people of Gloucester Township, New Jersey.
Once again, as you travel through Gloucester Township during this holiday season, you are likely to see our officers conducting traffic enforcement, specifically targeting drunk driving and aggressive driving. Our goal is to reduce crashes and avoid tragedy, so everyone can enjoy the holidays. Please take your time, put down your phones, and don’t drink alcohol or use marijuana if you are driving. We again will be proactively deploying our officers, and will be using cutting edge technology, throughout the holiday season to keep our community safe.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, please take a moment to remember the 204 Law Enforcement Officers who have died in the line of duty this year (see www.odmp.org ). Please remember the families of these, who are grieving their loved ones during the holiday season. We will continue to honor them by carrying on our law enforcement mission. The men and women of the Gloucester Township Police Department will be there when our community needs us.
On behalf of all of the members of the Gloucester Township Police Department we would like to wish you a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving! We are honored to serve you.
Thank you for your support!
David J. Harkins
Chief of Police “
