Spring has arrived!  I am sure that no one expected to celebrate spring with a “No Travel Order” but these are unprecedented times.  That is what we are experiencing with this COVID-19 National Crisis.   The men and women of the Gloucester Township Police Department are adjusting our operations and continue to prepare for the public safety concerns of our community during this crisis.

INCIDENT: Pedestrian Was Struck As He Walked Along The Black Horse Pike

On Monday, March 16th, 2020 at approximately 3:42 pm, Officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to the Black Horse Pike in the area of Oak Avenue for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.

Drug House Dismantled in Gloucester Township Arts District

Incident Location: 100 Block of the South Blackhorse Pike, Blackwood New Jersey, (Gloucester Township)
Case Number: 2019-51302

A four (4) month investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics resulted in the arrest of 39 year old Khalif Jones from Blackwood.

Gloucester Township Police To Swear In 2 New Officers; 7 New Volunteers and Flag Ceremony

On Monday, January 27th 2020, Chief David Harkins will present 2 Officers to Mayor David Mayer and Council to be ceremoniously sworn in as Police Officers, as well as 7 Volunteers for the Police Service Program.

Chief’s Message: January 2020

As we continue to move into 2020, I am pleased to report that the preliminary data for the crime statistics for 2019 indicate continued good news for the residents of Gloucester Township.  Our community policing initiatives and proactive policing philosophy, have resulted in Violent Crime (Robbery, Murder, Forcible Rape, and Aggravated Assault) dropping by 18% (77 incidents in 2018 and 63 incidents in 2019).

Media Release: Alert Neighbor Contacts Police To Report Vehicle Burglars

On January 15, 2020 at approximately 4:12 am, an alert neighbor noticed two suspicious males walking in the unit block of Marcia Ct. in the Blackwood section of town. They contacted police who quickly responded and set up a perimeter. Shortly after, officers located two males walking on Morningstar Ct.

Man Armed With A Knife Safely Arrested After Officers Use Less Lethal PepperBalls – January 2, 2020

On Thursday January 2, 2020 the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a home on the 30 block of Santalina Drive in Sicklerville, NJ 08081 to attempt a warrant service on a Mehal Rockefeller. Mr. Rockefeller was observed in the back yard of the property when officers began to approach he fled into the home.

Two Charged In Gloucester Township Homicide – January 2, 2020

Rosealee Gomez, 36, of Franklinville, NJ, and Chamberlin Robinson, 41, of Vineland, NJ, were each charged in connection with a home invasion in Gloucester Township. Gomez was charged with one count of Felony Murder and Burglary, and Robinson was charged with one count of Murder, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S.
